The ONE word of the year is emerging everywhere. My word is "
CREATE". Sew a little every day to create the quilts or projects that are in my bucket list. I finally quilted couple of my UFOs and this gives me some kind of relief to move on to new projects.
Also trying to conquer my fear to sew garments, starting with baby patterns. I attached snaps for the first time and found out it's not that hard at all. I am still struggling to understand pattern instructions though. Picture taking skills , thatI have none as you can see.

Nine patch quilt for Ronald McDonald House. Right now I am ripping off that awkward line of stitching you see here. It's so tiny and draining my energy. Talk about things that'll slow you down. |

Finally quilted this UFO from 2012. |
Love your pink and green quilt. Lovely pattern and layout.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. I combined two patterns to make this quilt, one I saw at Missouri star Quilt Co about the 3 dudes jelly roll quilt and the other Wiggly Whimsy quilt from Moda Bake Shop.
DeleteIt always feels so good to finish some old ufo's! Great job but not fun ripping. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteThank you Beth. Ripping not a fun thing to do but had to be done. I love the HST quilt you are working on.
DeleteYeah for your rainbow CREATE! I have a small Janome, and I can see from your quilting in progress shots that you, also, are challenged by the minimal space between needle and the body of the machine. You are doing such a fine job of quilting each of your lovely quilts. What a great feeling of accomplishment to see them one step closer to being completed! That fleece jumper is sew sweet! Good for you taking on new sewing projects and learning new techniques! I am so looking forward to following you on your sewing journey and seeing what you CREATE in 2014!
ReplyDeleteThank You Lorna. I am exploring things in blogging and having fun with it. When I bought this machine I had no inclination towards quilting, in fact I didn't like quilting at all. I thought what is the point of cutting fabrics into tiny pieces and putting them back together. I can tell you now I was soooooooooooo WRONG. A lovely lady at Ronald McDonald House quilting group warned me about addiction.
DeleteLove your word of the year. Something we all wish we could do more of! Great start for the New Year for you with your UFOs. I have my UFO list for 2014!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra! I want to do more quilts this year, having a list and getting a couple of ufos out of the way, really helps.
DeleteSticking to one item has been hard for me lately! This week I had to tell myself that I could NOT start something new until I finished something. I'm just enjoying being creative.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's true with all creative minds. What would we do without UFO's? I am glad you enjoy the process. Thank you for stopping by.
