Petal Parade

I just realized I never wrote a post on the Petal Parade Quilt I made in 2016. This quilt was inspired by a vintage cut metal grill. I am also fascinated with orange peel quilts and applique quilts. So it was a breeze to quickly put together this wall hanging. Yellow petals of two different size arranged in a geometric pattern on Navy blue background fabric and satin-stitched all around the petals and dots.

    I can absolutely see this as a metal gate or front of a pie safe, or anything else. It's a graceful design and executed prettily in fabric.
